SoundBuilder was created as an outlet for my passion for live audio, as well as the years and years and thousands of shows I’ve played and experience accumulated along the way ………from both sides of the monitors.   Musicians often comment how “good” my stage mix is, clear and balanced.  In my experience, the better the stage sounds for the musicians, the better the performance, the better the house mix……..everything gels.  I strive to get the most out of whatever system I’m working on, house, mine or yours.  Since I’m generally mixing smaller rooms and venues, I mix around the stage sound, filling in what is needed.   I also mix “downward”, if the vocals are buried, instead of bring the vocals UP, I bring everything else down.   I have lots of theories on what makes a good mix, but typically, less is more…..  Full, Balanced and Clear.
